St. Joseph's Catholic College

What we did:
St Joseph's Catholic College in Swindon was already receiving substantial business rates relief on their main school buildings, however, they had additional property still subject to full rates.

We built a case to submit to Swindon Borough Council showing their additional property should receive the relief the main school was benefitting from. The strength of our presented case meant we received notice that our application was successful within two weeks. However, the local authority had only been willing to backdate the relief two years due to their present policies.

Using our in-depth knowledge of the legislations pertaining to backdating business rates reliefs, we were able to contest these policies. Within a month, the relief was backdated as far back as allowed by law, achieving a significantly larger refund.

Thanks to Holloway Bond, my organisation received a business rates refund of £30,000

The result:
St Joseph's Catholic College received a refund just shy of £30,000 and their ongoing bill has been reduced by 80% allowing for a reallocation of funds towards areas that better benefit the school.

What our client had to say:
"Thanks to Holloway Bond, my organisation received a business rates refund of £30,000 and going forward bills have been significantly reduced.

Without them we would not have known we were even entitled to a refund and Holloway Bond managed everything."
